Students will correct the spellings of misspelled words.

Instructions to the teacher

  1. Make a list of around ten words that you find problematic for your students to spell. Jumble the spelling up by omitting or switching a letter or two around. For example: (Receive → Recieve*). 
  2. You can give brief definitions of the words or use them in context such as in a cloze test. 
  3. Have students identify and correct the misspelling in each word. 
  4. If students work individually, have them compare their answers in pairs or small groups.
