Audio-record the following recipe. Then, play it in class and ask students to answer comprehension questions.
Recipe Script
To bake a basic vanilla cake, you will need the following ingredients: one cup of white sugar, two eggs, half a cup of butter, one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, two teaspoons of vanilla extract, half a cup of milk, and one and three quarter teaspoons of baking powder. The directions are as follows: Firstly, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C). Then, prepare your baking pan by greasing it and adding some flour. Shake off excess flour. Secondly, combine flour and baking powder. Sieve and set aside. Then, mix sugar and butter together in a bowl. Break the eggs one at a time and add them into the mixture. Beat for a minute. Add vanilla extract. Then, combine flour and baking powder mixture with the wet ingredients. Mix well. Add milk gradually and stir until the batter is smooth. Transfer the batter into the baking pan. Thirdly, bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
