Charades

Topic: Illness, Injury, Medical Care

Mode: Interpersonal

Level: Novice

Students will act out different illnesses, and the rest of the class will guess what it is.

Instructions to the teacher

In advance, write different symptoms/illnesses on index cards. Students should come to the front of the room one at a time, draw an index card, and silently act out the symptom to the class.

Instructions to students

You will watch your classmates perform charades. It is your job to guess what their illness is. When you guess, you should use the form of a question. For example, “Do you have a cough?” or “Are you sneezing?”. If you were the one acting out the charade, you should respond with a complete sentence. For example, “Yes, I have a cough.”
