The Passage
Today, more schools require students to wear a uniform instead of wearing what they choose. Some people think that this helps students focus on their studies instead of focusing on fashion. It is common to see students at these schools wearing a solid colored polo shirt and khaki trousers. Others think that these dress codes will prevent students from getting distracted for other reasons. Many school dress codes ban mini skirts and tank tops and require that shorts, dresses, and skirts be of a certain length. Some do not allow students to wear jeans. Others do not have a strictly enforced dress code, but have a rule against t-shirts with certain images or words on them.
