Either make a recording in advance or read the script aloud to the class. Also make a worksheet for the class like the one below of a list of possible grocery items. Expand and edit the activity as necessary for your context and purposes.

Script

It’s time to go grocery shopping! I need tomatoes, an eggplant, and some peppers. I also need some eggs, milk, bread, and butter. What else do I need? Maybe some chicken and rice. I think that’s everything. 

Instructions to students

Listen carefully as the shopper talks about what she needs to buy. Circle all of the grocery items that she mentions.
