Create a guided reading sheet for students on which they can write down information about the introductions they will watch. Locate a series of 4-5 video clips on YouTube or a similar site where someone is being introduced (e.g. a talk show). Students will watch the introductions and write down key information about the person who is introduced, the greeting that is used, and the guest’s response to the greeting.

Instructions to students

Your teacher will play 5 introductions taken from video clips on YouTube. As you watch each introduction, write down the following information on your guided reading sheet. What do you learn about the person who is introduced? What words or phrases are used in the introduction? How did the person respond? Is the introduction similar to or different from introductions in your native language?
