Students will correct the spellings of misspelled words.
Instructions to the teacher
- Make a list of around ten words that you find problematic for your students to spell. Jumble the spelling up by omitting or switching a letter or two around. For example: (Receive → Recieve*).
- You can give brief definitions of the words or use them in context such as in a cloze test.
- Have students identify and correct the misspelling in each word.
- If students work individually, have them compare their answers in pairs or small groups.
