The passage

Hello, I’m Matthew, a new student from St. Louis. I’m twenty years old. Right now, I’m living in Owen Hall on Bogue Street, but I think I might move to the apartments on Trappers Cove. My phone number is 098-765-4321. It’s nice to meet everyone.

Comprehension Questions

  1. Where is Matthew from?
  2. How old is he?
  3. What street does he live on now?
  4. Where does he think he will live in the future?
  5. What is his phone number?

Additional Synthesis Ideas

  1. The teacher will post a recording about where she/he is from along with other personal information.
  2. Students will respond to the teacher’s recording by sharing their own information too.
  3. Students will also respond to at least two of their classmates’ posts and ask at least three questions about where they are from, their age, and information on how to contact them. All posts and responses should be in audio or video format.
